Aachen International Mining Symposia 2016

Aachen International Mining Symposia 2016
Come and meet the Skapto team at the Aachen International Mining Symposia – Mining in Europe Conference! From 18 to 19 May at the RWTH University in Aachen. A exciting first edition of what is going to be a very interesting series on the mining sector in Europe. For more information see: www.aims.rwth-aachen.de

Objective
Today, the global mining community faces significant challenges, ranging from technological to social, environmental and economic issues. The mining community has confronted and solved such challenges over centuries and has thereby delivered important contributions to the use and development of our mineral resources.

The key objective of the 2nd International Conference Mining in Europe is to share the latest developments on mining expertise, activities, developments and research in Europe and beyond. The Conference will address a series of topics, with a focus on mineral resources, mining technologies, and responsible mining.
Invitation
We invite professionals from the mining industry and practitioners from consulting companies, equipment suppliers and software providers, people from research institutions and government agencies as well as academic scholars and researchers to attend this Conference. An additional objective of this Conference is to encourage MSc and PhD students to showcase their research.

The Conference will feature invited keynote speakers, exhibitions by industry and sessions with oral and poster presentations drawn from submitted 1-page abstracts. Upon completion of the conference, authors have the opportunity to submit their work for publication in a special issue of the internationally refereed journal “Minerals”.

Karelian Gold Rush 2015

Karelian Gold Rush 2015
Johan Vandaele, one of our project geologists, just won a prize in the Karelian Gold Rush 2015 – a Global Exploration Challenge” organised by Endomines, receiving praise for exceptional quality, innovation and out of the box thinking. Johan delineated a number of targets based on advanced prospectivity modelling on the Karelian Gold Line Project of Endomines. The project lies in the Karelian Greenstone Belt in Eastern Finland, which is a known host for orogenic gold.We like to thank Endomines for the opportunity and their kind words.

For more information see: Endomines website.

Endomines is pleased to announce the winners of the “Karelian Gold Rush 2015”, a Global Exploration Challenge organised by the Company. With the competition Endomines did challenge the worldwide mining and exploration community to innovative and out-of-box thinking and to come up with new ideas for exploration targets and models.

Endomines made available all relevant geological data from its fully controlled “Karelian Gold Line” – a 40 km-long gold prospective Archaean greenstone belt located in Eastern Finland in November 2015. The released data was available for geoscientists and others from all over the world. More than 30 years of exploration activity has resulted in gold deposits currently in production as well as numerous mineralizations along the “Karelian Gold Line”, but the area is still deemed under explored.

Totally some 150 participants downloaded the data package from the Endomines web-site. After two months competition period, the Company received 15 regional exploration proposals from individuals and project groups.

A huge majority of the proposals were of high quality and all participants had put a lot of work for the proposals. Some of the proposals included totally new technology and approach to processing the Karelian Gold Line exploration data.

An international jury of independent and experienced geoprofessionals has judged all the entries. The jury members have been Ph.D. Paul Evins (structural geology), WSP Sweden; Ph.D. Denis Schlatter (geochemistry) Helvetica Exploration Services, Switzerland and M.Sc. Turo Ahokas Independent Senior Geophysicist, Finland. Markus Ekberg, M.Sc., QP (geology), CEO of Endomines Ab did coordinate jury activities.
